We are seeking a Lecturer (Applied Animal Science) to join our team at the Mt Albert campus in a fixed-term, part-time position (18.75 hours per week) from January to December 2027.

In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of foundational academic skills, animal husbandry, animal learning, animal behaviour and welfare, and applied animal behaviour science at undergraduate levels. You will also provide postgraduate statistics marking support, helping to ensure a high-quality and seamless learning experience for students.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A relevant qualification in Applied Animal Behaviour Science or a related discipline.
• A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
• Knowledge and practical experience in Animal Husbandry and/or Applied Animal Behaviour.
• The ability to deliver high-quality teaching and assessment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive working relationships with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Effective organisation and time-management skills.
• A commitment to supporting student success and creating an inclusive learning environment.
• An understanding or desire to learn te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and the values and practices of kaupapa Māori
• Evidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments
• A PhD (completed or near completion) in a relevant discipline.
• Experience teaching in a tertiary education setting.
• Experience assessing or marking postgraduate-level work.
• Experience in continuous improvement of teaching practice.
• Industry connections relevant to Applied Animal Science.
