Job summary

The University of Auckland invites applications for a Lecturer in Inclusive Education in the School of Education and Social Practice. This is a full-time, permanent role focusing on teaching across undergraduate, initial teacher education and postgraduate programmes, while building a strong research profile in Inclusive Education and Disability Studies.

You will supervise Masters and PhD students, contribute to curriculum development, secure external funding, and engage with schools, communities

Qualifications

• A PhD in Inclusive Education or closely related field.
• Strong record of teaching and research in Inclusive Education.
• Expertise in inclusive education policies, pedagogies, and practices.
• Evidence of effective and engaging tertiary teaching.
• Ability to develop a sustained programme of high-quality research.
• Experience supervising or supporting postgraduate students.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity-centred educational practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching in Inclusive Education and Disability Studies.
• Supervise Masters and PhD research students.
• Develop and enhance undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum.
• Build and maintain a programme of high-quality research and scholarly publications.
• Seek external and internal research funding opportunities.
• Participate in conferences and knowledge mobilisation activities.
• Contribute to School, Faculty and University service initiatives.
• Develop strong partnerships with schools, communities and policymakers.
