Job summary

Mt Carmel School in Meadowbank, Auckland, seeks a caring learning assistant to provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with additional needs. You will collaborate with teachers, the SENCO and our learning support team to support inclusive learning.

You will help students access the curriculum, prepare learning aids and materials, and foster positive learner outcomes. NZ residency or valid NZ work visa required; hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 12:15pm, term time only.

Qualifications

• Passion for working with children, including those with additional needs.
• Ability to relate to a diverse range of young people.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Helping students access the curriculum.
• Assisting with delivery of learning programmes and activities.
• Prepare and organise learning aids, equipment, and materials.
