Job summary

Hamilton City Council's Waterworld Te Rapa is seeking a Learn to Swim Teacher to coach babies, preschoolers and school‑aged swimmers in the basics of swimming and water safety. You will need strong communication and relationship‑building skills to connect with children and families.

Shifts include Monday afternoons from 3:15pm to 6:30pm and Saturdays 7:45am to 11:30am, with opportunities for professional development in a supportive community.

Qualifications

• Austswim trained with teacher of swimming and water safety
• Previous industry experience teaching people to swim
• Experience teaching babies aged 3 months to 3 years
• Wide open availability to cover shifts
• Love of the water and interaction with children

Responsibilities

• Teach babies, preschoolers and school‑aged children the basics of swimming and water safety
• Deliver engaging lessons and monitor safety around the water
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers
