Fulton Hogan Ltd in Timaru seeks a senior crew member to join the Asphalt Laying Crew as the 2IC. You will stay hands-on with asphalt laying, plants, and day-to-day operations while supporting the Foreman to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality work.

Qualifications

• Solid hands-on asphalt experience with ability to lead crew (2IC on site).
• Experience as a leading hand or senior crew member on civil/asphalt projects.
• Current Class 2 licence minimum, with W, T and R endorsements.
• Understanding of traffic management requirements on site; STMS Level 1 and First Aid are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Foreman with daily workflow and coordinate site activities as the crew’s 2IC.
• Lead from the front with hands-on asphalt laying, plant operation, labouring tasks, and safe site setup.
• Step into the Foreman’s role when needed and help keep work on track, on time, and to a high quality standard.
• Carry out pre-starts, risk planning, equipment checks, and support safe, efficient day-to-day operations.
• Help train and guide less experienced crew members while building a strong team culture on site.
