Job summary

Terra Industrial New Zealand Limited in Auckland is seeking a Leading Hand to head a team of heavy diesel field service technicians across the Auckland region.

You will drive efficiency, safety and quality while mentoring staff, handling warranty and administrative tasks, and also undertaking on-tools work alongside leadership duties. Daily Right to Start meetings and a strong focus on our values guide the role.

Qualifications

• Experience leading, mentoring and coaching a team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Heavy diesel field service technician with relevant qualifications.
• 2+ years’ experience in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of heavy diesel field service technicians.
• Ensure work efficiency, productivity, quality and safety.
• Coach and mentor staff; handle warranty claims and admin tasks.

The role:

As one of five Leading Hands in our Auckland operation, you will provide leadership and support to your team of heavy diesel field service technicians working across the Auckland region. You will be responsible for ensuring work efficiency, productivity and quality, safety, coaching and mentoring, warranty claims and associated administrative work. You will also undertake your own on tools work and complete jobs alongside your leadership responsibilities. You will also lead daily Right to Start meetings and champion Health and Safety along with our other values of Openness, Integrity and Care.

We are seeking:

• A qualified and experienced heavy diesel technician
• 2+ years’ experience in our industry
• An understanding of operational processes and systems
• Experience leading, mentoring and coaching a team Is preferred but not essential

This role requires you to work closely with other Terra staff to ensure our customers have a great experience every time, so top-notch communication and organisational skills are essential.
