Job summary

Selwyn District Council is seeking a Swim School Manager for a parental leave cover of 10.5 months at the Selwyn Aquatic Centre. You will lead programme delivery, develop people, drive continuous improvement and ensure exceptional customer experience while teaching lifesaving skills.

You'll oversee a large swim school, manage operations and rostering, and work across 7 days a week with some weekend shifts. This is a unique opportunity to impact the community while leading a dynamic team.

Qualifications

3-5 years leading a large team and overseeing the operational requirements of a swim school.
Proven skills in leading a team to achieve excellent outcomes for the community and organisation.
Sound ability as a swim teacher in all swim school levels.
Experienced in work force planning.
Effective and demonstrable communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style to the audience.

Responsibilities

Oversee and take responsibility for the operational requirements of Swim School.
Accurate and timely grading.
Rebooking all customers.
Invoicing all customers. Optimising the use of technology within service area.
Pool space planning and usage.
Rostering and cover, some Saturday and/or Sunday morning work will be required.
