Job summary

Dawn Aerospace in Christchurch, New Zealand, seeks a Maintenance Controller to establish and lead the maintenance system for the Mk-II Aurora spaceplane. This leadership role spans maintenance planning, execution, documentation, and staff authorisation within the Flight Operations team.

You will drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement while coordinating ground operations during flight testing and shaping maintenance strategy for routine, high-frequency spaceflight

Qualifications

• Experience leading maintenance teams in aerospace.
• Knowledge of maintenance programmes and certifications.
• Ability to work in fast-moving R&D environments.
• Familiarity with uncrewed aircraft standards (CAA Part 102) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing all maintenance of the Mk-II, scheduled or unscheduled.
• Ensure defects are investigated and rectified before flight.
• After maintenance, conduct a release to service.
• Develop, enforce, and monitor maintenance standards.
• Implement the aircraft Maintenance Programme and procedures.
• Collaborate with design engineers to establish the programme.
