A construction and refurbishment contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, taking ownership of financial and contractual aspects from inception to final account.

You will manage budgets, forecasts and cash flow, oversee subcontractor procurement, and work closely with project managers and site teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

This full-time, office-and-site role offers varied projects and real opportunity to impact profitability.

Qualificações

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Experience on refurbishment and/or building projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and financial management.
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations and final accounts.
• Understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsabilidades

• Managing the commercial aspects of construction and refurbishment projects from inception through to final account.
• Preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans and financial forecasts.
• Monitoring project costs, cash flow and overall commercial performance.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, negotiations and appointments.
• Reviewing and assessing subcontractor applications for payment.
• Preparing and submitting interim valuations and applications for payment.
• Managing variations, change control and contractual claims.
• Producing regular cost reports and financial forecasts.
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities to maximise profitability.
• Working closely with project managers, site teams and senior management.
• Attending site visits and commercial meetings as required.
