Job summary

TW Construction is seeking a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our North Island team. You will support the Commercial Manager, provide expert financial and contractual guidance, and drive project outcomes across a diverse portfolio.

The role requires strong commercial acumen, a sound understanding of construction methodologies, and the ability to implement robust project controls. Collaborate with regional teams to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar is essential.
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying within the Construction Industry.
• Familiarity with JobPac and/or Procore project management systems will be highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
• Proven track record of accurate estimating and successful project delivery.
• Ability to confidently identify problems, evaluate solutions, and implement the best outcomes.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in construction cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Act as 2IC to the Commercial Manager, providing leadership and oversight.
• Lead the preparation of accurate cost estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Advise on commercial, contractual, and procurement matters.
• Monitor high-risk project budgets and ensure financial viability.
• Control labour, materials and programme costs; mitigate risks.
• Prepare tender documents, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts.
• Administer construction contracts including variations, claims and disputes.
• Analyse project financial performance and provide profitability recommendations.
• Provide commercial insights to support business planning and pricing.
