Job summary

Southern Cross Health Insurance in Auckland is seeking a senior Quality Engineer to lead quality engineering across Value Streams, building quality in from the start and scaling automation. You will coach engineers, drive test pyramid optimization, and collaborate with Platform, Architecture and Security to raise standards while delivering reliable software for almost one million members.

Qualifications

Leading quality engineering across multiple squads and driving improvement.
Strong coding skills across languages and data-driven decision making.
Deep grounding in CI/CD, cloud-native architectures and secure coding using metrics.

Responsibilities

Set and evolve the Value Stream quality strategy with engineering peers.
Partner with technology leaders so quality, reliability and delivery are aligned.
Coach Software Engineers and Quality Engineers through code reviews and feedback.
Lead the Quality Engineering Community of Practice across squads.
Work with Platform and Architecture to cover test data, environments and gates.
Facilitate cross-squad technical decisions on quality standards.
Review significant quality investments and their criteria.
Investigate production incidents and feed learnings into standards.
Translate product priorities into quality decisions for engineering.
