Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Production Planning Specialist for its manufacturing facility in Queenstown, ZA. You will develop, refine, and manage detailed production schedules, coordinating with procurement, production, and sales to meet demand while optimizing materials and capacity.

This hands-on role requires strong organizational skills and a focus on continuous improvement. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery, manage WIP and finished goods

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
• Minimum 3 years of production planning or scheduling experience.
• Strong knowledge of production processes, capacity planning, and MRP.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and planning software.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity, and material availability.
• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
• Monitor production progress on the shop floor and make necessary adjustments to schedules.
• Collaborate with quality assurance to ensure planned production meets quality standards.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and optimize scheduling efficiency.
• Manage inventory levels of work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods.
• Communicate production schedules and updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Identify potential production bottlenecks and proactively propose solutions.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning and control.
• Maintain accurate records of production plans, schedules, and performance metrics.
