Job summary

RobLawMax Recruitment invites applications for a Land Surveyor in Wanaka. You will oversee on-site surveying, set-out, earthworks support, as-built records and survey reporting across civil projects.

You’ll mentor junior survey staff, liaise with clients and engineers, and ensure accuracy, quality and regulatory compliance on site. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in civil construction surveying, strong CAD/Magnet/TBC skills, and proficiency with GPS and total stations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years civil construction/earthworks surveying experience.
• Strong CAD and survey software skills (Civil CAD, Magnet, TBC).
• Confident with GPS, total stations and set-out work.
• High accuracy with strong attention to detail.
• Good communicator with ability to manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Earthworks surveying including cut/fill, set-out, and as-builts.
• Field surveys and construction monitoring across civil projects.
• Produce survey drawings, reports, quantities, and documentation.
• Process survey data using Civil CAD, Magnet, and Trimble Business Center.
• Operate GPS, total stations, and related survey equipment.
• Ensure works meet design specifications and compliance requirements.
• Liaise with clients, engineers, and project teams.
• Support mentoring of junior survey staff.
