Job summary

Absolute IT in New Zealand is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a forward-thinking SaaS team in Petone. You'll build scalable microservices with Java and Spring Boot, shaping a high-impact, cloud-native architecture.

You will develop RESTful APIs, work with Postgres and NoSQL databases, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate has deep experience with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and event-driven systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.

Qualifications

• Strong Java skills including concurrency and design patterns.
• Extensive Spring Boot experience (Data, Security, JPA/Hibernate).
• Proven background with microservices and cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• API development experience with RESTful services.
• Familiarity with Postgres and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra and OpenSearch.
