Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking a Head of Environmental Engineering & Consenting in Redvale, Auckland to lead the environmental engineering team and oversee regulatory consenting, environmental assessments, and stakeholder engagement.

You will champion innovative environmental solutions, ensure compliance with NZ environmental legislation, manage budgets, and mentor engineers, driving sustainable infrastructure excellence.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in environmental engineering or consenting.
• Deep knowledge of RMA processes and consent applications.
• Experience leading engineers and coordinating stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of EIA methodologies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of environmental engineers and consenting specialists.
• Oversee regulatory consenting and submission of resource consent applications.
• Provide technical leadership on EIAs and environmental management plans.
• Engage with regulatory agencies and local authorities.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.
• Mentor team and drive career development.
