Job summary

Kāinga Ora is seeking an experienced Manager - Data Engineering to lead delivery, operation and evolution of its enterprise data engineering capability. This role ensures data platforms, pipelines and analytics environments are reliable, secure and scalable to support timely business insights across the organisation.

As a leader within Digital IT, you will drive modern data engineering practices, oversee critical data platforms and partner with Technology Operations, Architecture & Security,

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading data engineering and data platform teams in complex enterprise environments.
• Experience managing enterprise data platforms with emphasis on stability, performance and improvement.
• Strong knowledge of modern data platforms, cloud-based data services, data pipelines and data integration technologies.
• Expertise in governance, security, operational support and platform lifecycle management.
• Experience delivering highly available, secure and scalable data solutions that support decision-making.
• Understanding of service delivery, SLAs, incident management, disaster recovery and business continuity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery, operation and evolution of Kāinga Ora's enterprise data engineering capability.
• Ensure data platforms, pipelines and analytics environments are reliable, secure and scalable.
• Collaborate with Technology Operations, Architecture & Security, Data, Integration and business teams.

• Ensure data capabilities are cost-effective and responsive to business needs.
