Job summary

Comspek International in Auckland seeks a Lead iOS Engineer to guide a large-scale consumer mobile platform used by thousands of New Zealanders. You will shape the technical direction of the iOS experience and mentor engineers to drive engineering excellence.

You will lead architecture decisions, promote best practices like CI/CD and observability, collaborate on roadmap planning with Product and Engineering leaders, and deliver scalable, high-quality mobile solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Strong experience building native iOS apps.
• Expert-level knowledge of Swift and SwiftUI.
• Solid understanding of software architecture and scalable mobile systems.
• Experience influencing technical direction and long-term architectural decisions.
• Strong stakeholder communication and mentoring skills.

Job description

We're looking for a Lead iOS Engineer to join a high-performing product engineering team working on a large-scale consumer mobile platform used by hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders. You'll play a key role in shaping the technical direction of the iOS experience while mentoring engineers and driving engineering excellence.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing technical leadership across iOS development initiatives
• Driving architecture, engineering standards, and best practices
• Partnering with Product and Engineering leaders on strategy and roadmap planning
• Mentoring and coaching engineers to support their growth and development
• Leading the delivery of scalable, reliable, and high-quality mobile solutions
• Promoting modern engineering practices including CI/CD, observability, and technical excellence

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years' experience in a technical leadership role
• Strong commercial experience building native iOS applications
• Expert-level knowledge of Swift and SwiftUI
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable mobile systems
• Experience influencing technical direction and making long-term architectural decisions
• Strong stakeholder communication and mentoring skills
• Passion for delivering outstanding mobile experiences and building high-performing engineering teams
