Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Lead Engineer, ideally based in Australia but open to candidates in New Zealand. You will lead a diverse portfolio of automation projects, including design, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and customer-facing delivery within the Industrial Automation team.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, AVEVA System Platform/MES/Production experience, and strong industrial networking knowledge, with a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities across global markets.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Engineers Australia Certification is great)
• Experience delivering Industrial Automation Engineering projects with a strong focus on control systems and digital solutions, ideally using AVEVA System Platform and/or AVEVA MES/AVEVA Production
• Strong understanding of industrial networking concepts including switches, routers, firewalls, network architectures and familiarity with network security principles for industrial environments
• Domain experience to interpret process descriptions and develop technical specifications and system designs
• Exposure to Industry 4.0 technologies (IoT, data analytics, edge computing), cloud integration and cybersecurity
• Understanding of Schneider Electric offerings, digital twins, machine learning applications and advanced automation strategies is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and oversight across automation, software, digital twin and industrial intelligence projects
• Lead project delivery including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and customer relationship management
• Oversee on-site tasks while ensuring HSE and quality requirements are met
• Ensure adherence to standards, procedures, and best practices within a digitally enabled environment
• Promote the company as a leading solutions provider and ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Pre-Sales, HSE, Supply Chain and related teams locally and globally
• Focus on customer delivery and satisfaction for End Users, Partners and Contractors
• Develop team mastery through ongoing skills development
