Job summary

Truck Stops (NZ) Ltd, a Sime Motors subsidiary, is seeking a Service Foreman to take charge of daily workshop operations, overseeing servicing and repairs on industry‑leading Hino, Mack, Volvo and UD trucks, plus exposure to other makes.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will allocate jobs, lead diesel technicians and apprentices, maintain workflow efficiency and ensure high‑quality service delivery in a fast‑paced environment, while upholding safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in automotive diesel or heavy vehicles.
• Proven experience in a leadership or senior technician role.
• Strong knowledge of heavy commercial trucks and diagnostics.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Ability to lead by example in a busy, team-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of diesel technicians and apprentices.
• Allocate jobs and manage daily workshop scheduling.
• Ensure repair and maintenance work is completed to manufacturer standards.
• Provide technical guidance and hands-on assistance as needed.
• Uphold health, safety, and compliance standards at all times.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
