Job summary

Parliament of New Zealand in Wellington seeks a senior data professional to shape the future of data services within the Research Services team. You will lead projects, mentor Data Insights Advisers and collaborate across Parliament to access diverse data sources.

Responsibilities include driving innovations in data analysis, visualization, automation and reporting, developing practical tools and maintaining high data standards.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Research Lead to identify opportunities for innovation and drive practical improvements in the team's services, tools and ways of working.
• Coach and mentor Data Insights Advisers to build capability, confidence and good practice.
• Build strong relationships across Parliament to access, understand and make effective use of data from a range of sources.
• Lead collaborative data and innovation projects from scoping through to delivery.
• Develop and promote practical tools, templates and reusable approaches for data analysis, visualisation and reporting.
• Support high-quality, consistent data products through collaboration, review and clear analytical and visual standards.
