Job summary

Tribe Group is seeking a Lead Cyber Security Engineer to own the organisation’s security engineering and operational capability. This hands-on leadership role covers security platforms, detection and monitoring, endpoint and identity security, vulnerability management and incident response.

You'll work with senior technology stakeholders to strengthen controls across a modern hybrid environment, with opportunities to grow into security architecture and governance.

About The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Lead Cyber Security Engineer to take ownership of the organisation’s security engineering and operational capability. This is a hands-on technical leadership role covering security platforms, detection and monitoring, endpoint and identity security, vulnerability management and incident response. You’ll work closely with senior technology stakeholders to strengthen security controls across a modern hybrid environment. For the right person, there is also a genuine opportunity to develop further into security architecture, strategy and governance.

What You’ll Bring

• You’ll be an experienced Security Engineer / Senior Security Engineer / Lead Security Engineer with strong hands-on technical capability and the confidence to take ownership.
• Strong Microsoft security experience across Azure, Entra ID, Defender and Sentinel.
• Hands-on experience with EDR/XDR platforms such as Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike or SentinelOne.
• Strong understanding of identity, endpoint, cloud and network security.
• Experience with detection engineering, incident response and security investigations.
• Experience managing vulnerabilities and delivering technical remediation.
• Practical experience with Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management and Zero Trust.
• The ability to translate security risks and requirements into practical technical controls.
• Scripting/automation experience with PowerShell, Python or KQL would be advantageous.
