Job summary

EVT Limited seeks a Duty Manager to oversee each shift and run the site in the absence of senior management. You will supervise staff, manage cash, and ensure smooth daily operations while upholding safety and customer service standards.

The role requires strong leadership, multitasking, and excellent communication. Prior customer service experience and a liquor licence are preferred; First Aid is an asset. This is a front-line, hands-on management position at our Hamilton cinema.

Qualifications

• NCEA Level 1 Maths or equivalent required.
• People management skills essential.
• Cash handling experience required.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills expected.
• Customer-focused with strong multitasking ability.
• Reliable, honest, and responsible team player.
• Preferred: liquor licence and first aid certificate.

Responsibilities

• Oversee management of each shift and site in the absence of Cinema Manager/Assistant Manager.
• Reprimand staff when required and escalate disciplinary matters to Cinema Manager.
• Report to Cinema Manager and coordinate with other cinema staff.
• Ensure sessions are screened according to daily schedules and that ads/trailers are played correctly.
• Maintain high service standards and safety for patrons and staff.
• Manage cash handling, floats, banking processes and weekly reconciliations.
• Support marketing/events within budget and assist with customer-facing responsibilities.
