Job summary

NZI Insurance, part of IAG New Zealand Limited, is seeking a Lead Buyer to shape sourcing, distribution and management of our motor parts supply network across New Zealand. You will negotiate, build strong supplier relationships and drive improvements to deliver value for customers and partners.

This permanent full-time role requires commercial acumen, analytical capability, and a collaborative approach to optimise the motor parts supply chain. Based in multiple locations across Aotearoa, NZ.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in procurement, commercial management, supplier performance, or a related discipline.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with a track record of delivering sustainable business outcomes.
• Ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across a diverse range of internal and external partners.
• Experience managing supplier performance, governance frameworks, contracts, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate commercial, pricing, rebate and service arrangements that deliver sustainable value and positive outcomes for IAG customers and partners.
• Build trust and effective relationships across a broad portfolio of industry stakeholders, including repairers, OEMs, dealers, dismantlers, importers, freight providers and stock providers.
• Work collaboratively with industry and internal stakeholders to identify and deliver practical improvements across the motor parts supply network.
• Manage and support operational requirements, helping translate commercial arrangements into practical and effective delivery.
• Develop, implement and manage performance frameworks that provide clear visibility of commercial, service and operational outcomes.
• Leverage data, market insights and industry knowledge to identify opportunities, support negotiations, and provide clear, credible recommendations that influence operational and senior stakeholder decision‑making.
• Lead sourcing, commercial and continuous‑improvement activities across an evolving portfolio of parts, services and supply‑chain solutions.
