Job summary

BDO Manawatū is seeking an experienced Senior Auditor or Assistant Audit Manager to join our Audit & Assurance team in Palmerston North. You’ll lead engagements from planning through completion and build trusted client relationships.

You'll review work, coach auditors and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team. Exposure to commercial, not-for-profit, public and education sectors offers meaningful variety and technical challenge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting or equivalent.
• CAANZ or equivalent professional qualification.
• At least four years in a public practice audit environment in New Zealand.
• Strong technical audit knowledge and professional judgement.
• Experience leading audit engagements and managing client relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proactive, commercially minded with continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead varied audit engagements from planning to completion.
• Build trusted client relationships and maintain proactive communication.
• Apply technical knowledge and professional judgement for audit outcomes.
• Coordinate workflows, timelines and resources for efficiency.
• Review work and provide feedback to team members.
• Coach and mentor junior auditors.
• Collaborate with Directors and Managers on issues and risk.
• Support growth of BDO Manawatū’s Audit & Assurance practice.
• Contribute to audit quality improvements and internal processes.
