Job summary

BDO Auckland is seeking an Audit Senior to join our team in Auckland City. You will lead audit engagements, review financial statements, and mentor junior staff while delivering high-quality assurance.

With 4+ years of audit experience, a Bachelor’s in Accounting and CA/ACCA qualification, you will work closely with Partners and Managers, ensuring compliance with standards and helping clients improve controls.

Qualifications

4+ years of audit experience in a professional services firm.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
CA or ACCA qualification; strong understanding of audit methodology and accounting standards.
Excellent written and oral English skills.

Responsibilities

Examine financial statements to determine accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Review and evaluate accounting systems and control procedures.
Make recommendations for improvements to accounting systems and control procedures.
Ensure compliance with quality and risk management standards.
Lead audit engagements and manage junior team members.
Summarize clients' business models and audit risks for the team.
Ensure audit timelines and deadlines are met.
Draft client-facing documents such as audit reports and board reports.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
Utilize audit software and tools effectively.
