Job summary

Theta is seeking an experienced Lead Analytics Engineer to join the Data and Insights Practice, based in our Wellington office. You will partner with clients to turn business questions into trusted reporting and semantic models using Microsoft Fabric and the Azure Data Platform.

You will design, model and deliver analytics products with governance, quality and measurable business outcomes, mentoring others and promoting best practices across delivery assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years Power BI experience essential.
• Significant experience delivering analytics solutions in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery conversations and workshops with customers.
• Translate business questions into analytics deliverables and semantic models.
• Design and deliver analytics solutions in Microsoft Fabric across data factory, lakehouses, and semantic models.
• Develop transformation logic using SQL and Python for analytics-ready datasets.
• Build and maintain Power BI reports and semantic models (DAX).
• Mentor team members and contribute to reusable templates and assets.
