Job summary

Kainga Ora – Homes and Communities is seeking a Lead Analyst to provide expert commercial and financial insight, supporting long-term sustainability and investment decisions. You will develop and maintain financial models for major capital projects and lead asset valuation efforts.

You will oversee fixed assets, WIP, and inventory valuation, assess impairment, and drive reporting improvements across Finance and the wider business. Strong Excel and CA credentials are essential.

Qualifications

• CA and accounting qualification required.
• Background in fixed asset accounting, asset valuations, WIP management or large capital projects.
• Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel skills.
• Analytical skills to translate complex data into insights.
• Stakeholder engagement across levels in a complex organisation.
• Ability to challenge assumptions and influence decisions.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of organisational impact.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach to drive positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term financial models for capital projects and forecasting.
• Lead asset valuation programmes and valuation models for investment decisions and NRV assessments.
• Provide strategic leadership across fixed assets, WIP, inventory and valuation activities.
• Analyse complex financial information to generate insights for performance.
• Oversee WIP management and validate capex balances; identify write-off risks.
• Drive improvements in asset data quality, valuation methodologies and cost capture.
• Build relationships with Finance and wider business to improve costing and outcomes.
• Lead or support projects improving organisational performance and value for money.
• Drive governance and best-practice asset management frameworks.
