Job summary

INFLITE Group, Mount Cook Ski Planes & Helicopters, Mount Cook Aerodrome, Aoraki/Mount Cook, Canterbury, New Zealand, seeks a Lead Base Pilot or Senior Pilot to lead operations at base level. This senior role focuses on safety, professionalism and operational excellence in a dynamic alpine setting.

You will oversee day-to-day flying, mentor pilots, liaise with external stakeholders, and drive planning, rostering and continuous improvement while maintaining high standards of safety and service.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and mentoring capability.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated decision-making in dynamic operations.
• Mountain flying and alpine landing experience preferred.
• CAA NZ CPL(H) and Class 1 Medical required.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day flying operations at Mount Cook base.
• Mentor and develop line pilots.
• Act as pilot liaison with external stakeholders.
• Conduct operational planning, rostering and continuous improvement.
• Promote professional, safety-first culture across operations.
