Job summary

NZ Ministry of Education – Hamilton is seeking a Lead Advisor, Learning Support Practice to lead regional learning support efforts in the Waikato. The role focuses on guiding staff, coordinating professional development, and implementing national practices to improve learner outcomes.

The successful candidate will have five or more years in specialist learning support, a relevant tertiary qualification, and a full NZ driving licence. Salary range $100,296 – $121,490 plus KiwiSaver.

Qualifications

• Experience in specialist learning support services in education.
• Ability to lead practice changes at system level.
• Knowledge of the New Zealand education system and Treaty implications.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and guidance to Service Managers and staff to drive consistent regional practice.
• Plan, coordinate and deliver coordinated professional development for learning support specialists.
• Support regional implementation of national practice changes, processes and systems.
