Job summary

JATT1 LTD T/A Complete Garden Solutions in Auckland seeks two reliable Lawnmower Operators for a full-time, permanent role. You will operate push and ride-on mowers, trimmers, and related equipment across residential and commercial properties, ensuring neat lawns and gardens to a high standard.

Full training provided. A NZ Driver Licence is preferred. You will join a supportive team focused on safety and quality work with consistent hours and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in gardening or grounds maintenance preferred but training will be provided.
• Basic knowledge of lawn care and gardening techniques is an advantage.
• A current Full New Zealand Driver Licence, or a Restricted Licence with ability to obtain a Full Licence.

Responsibilities

• Operate push mwers, ride-on mowers, line trimmers, edgers, brush cutters and other lawn maintenance equipment to mow residential, commercial and lifestyle properties safely and efficiently.
• Cut grass to appropriate heights and maintain lawns to a high presentation standard.
• Trim and edge around footpaths, driveways, garden beds, fences, trees and other obstacles to achieve a neat finish.
• Carry out routine lawn maintenance, including fertilising, weed control, lawn treatments and reseeding or repair as needed.
• Perform hedge trimming, shrub pruning and light tree maintenance where required.
• Remove grass clippings, leaves, branches and green waste, leaving sites clean and tidy.
• Undertake general garden maintenance including weeding, mulching, planting and seasonal clean-ups.
• Operate and maintain commercial gardening equipment, ensuring machinery is cleaned, fuelled and safe to use.
• Conduct pre-start safety checks on tools, vehicles and equipment and report faults promptly.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use PPE at all times.
• Assist with paddock mowing and large property maintenance using specialised equipment.
• Load, unload and transport gardening equipment, materials and green waste between worksites.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors and clients regarding progress and site requirements.

Lawnmower – Job Duties

• Operate push mowers, ride-on mowers, line trimmers, edgers, brush cutters, and other lawn maintenance equipment to mow residential, commercial, and lifestyle properties safely and efficiently.
• Cut grass to appropriate heights and maintain lawns to a high presentation standard.
• Trim and edge around footpaths, driveways, garden beds, fences, trees, and other obstacles to achieve a neat finish.
• Carry out routine lawn maintenance, including fertilising, weed control, lawn treatments, and identifying areas requiring reseeding or repair.
• Perform hedge trimming, shrub pruning, and light tree maintenance where required.

• Undertake general garden maintenance, including weeding, mulching, planting, and seasonal garden clean-ups.

• Assist with paddock mowing, large property maintenance, and vegetation management using specialised equipment when required.
• Load, unload, and transport gardening equipment, materials, and green waste between work sites.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors and clients regarding work progress, site requirements, and maintenance recommendations.
• Work efficiently as part of a team or independently to complete scheduled jobs within agreed timeframes while maintaining high-quality standards.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant should have:

• Previous experience in gardening, grounds maintenance, landscaping or a similar role is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
• Basic knowledge of lawn care, plant maintenance and gardening techniques is an advantage.
• A current Full New Zealand Driver Licence, or a Restricted Licence with the ability to obtain a Full Licence.
