Job summary

AFFCO is gearing up for its busy season and assembling motivated teams to start at the Rangiuru processing facility in Bay of Plenty to help get NZ Lamb from farm to customers' plates.

Hours range from 30–60 per week, with paid rates between $25 and $42 per hour, depending on task, skill and experience, plus allowances and overtime. This role requires precision and adherence to safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• NZQCF Level 4 qualification in meat processing.
• At least two years of relevant experience as a Meat Boner, Experienced Knife Hand, or Bandsaw Operator (experience may substitute for the formal qualification).
• Demonstrated experience of advanced knife work in a meat processing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to specifications.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Removing viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses.
• Hygienically dressing carcasses in preparation for primal cuts or further processing and packaging.
• Operating slaughter-floor equipment, such as cutters and flays.
• Trimming and removing head meat and severing animal heads.
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment as provided by the employer.
