Job summary

Higgins Palmerston North is seeking a motivated Concrete Labourer to support our concrete crews across civil construction projects in the region. If you enjoy hands-on work, being outdoors and working with a supportive team, this is the role for you.

This is a permanent, full-time position with a guaranteed 40 hours per week. Benefits include a competitive hourly rate, KiwiSaver employer contribution up to 4%, and opportunities to upskill with additional licences.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, civil, or labouring roles.
• Concrete experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Must hold a full, clean Class 1 driver’s licence.
• Class 2 licence and WTR endorsements are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, placement, and finishing of concrete.
• Support kerb and channel construction activities.
• Carry out general labouring duties on construction sites.
• Operate hand tools and small plant safely and efficiently.
• Assist with site setup, maintenance, and cleanup.
• Support crews to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes for customers.

Higgins Palmerston North is looking for a motivated and hardworking Concrete Labourer to join our team. This role will see you supporting our concrete crews across a variety of civil construction projects throughout the region. If you enjoy hands‑on work, working outdoors, and being part of a supportive team, this could be the opportunity for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assisting with the preparation, placement, and finishing of concrete
• Supporting kerb and channel construction activities
• Carrying out general labouring duties on construction sites
• Operating hand tools and small plant safely and efficiently
• Assisting with site set up, maintenance, and clean‑up
• Supporting crews to deliver safe, high‑quality outcomes for our customers
• Following health, safety, and environmental requirements at all times

What You’ll Bring To The Role

• Previous construction, civil, or labouring experience preferred
• Experience working with concrete is advantageous but not essential
• Full and clean Class 1 licence
• Class 2 licence and WTR endorsements are an advantage
• Physically fit and capable of manual work
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
• Willingness to work flexible hours as required
• A positive attitude and commitment to working safely
