BayCare Health System in Dunedin, FL, is seeking a full-time phlebotomist to collect, process, and manage patient specimens. The role involves routine phlebotomy, coordination with nursing and physicians, and referrals to external labs.

Flexibility for evenings/nights is required. The position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities within a large, forward-thinking health system.

Qualifications

• 6 months phlebotomy, laboratory-related experience or related field.
• Requires High School diploma or equivalent; or a bachelor’s degree in a related field in lieu of experience.
• Driver's license also required.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy certification.

Responsabilités

• Collect, receive, and process inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Coordinate with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Refer specimens to outside laboratories as needed.
• Interact with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Experience

• Required
• 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related; or related field

Education

• Required High School or equivalent
