Kiwi Lumber Masterton is seeking a high-level machine operator to run the green mill at our sawmill. You will rotate on two-hourly basis across multiple machines per shift, gaining exposure to several processes and products through quality training.

Job description

Kiwi Lumber Masterton are looking for high-level machine operator to run the green mill at our sawmill.Your workday will depend on your level of expertise, but roles are typically rotated on a 2-hourly basis, meaning that you could be working on 3 or 4 different machines per shift. This really helps you to learn new skills and also makes your workday more interesting and productive.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

Initially you will be introduced to the various sawmilling processes and products. By sorting and packing the various products, you will gain a better understanding of our production and quality standards. This knowledge and experience are critical before moving onto the more automated machines. We provide you with quality training through this exciting process.

We work 50 hours per week from Monday to Friday. The sawmill works on a split shift, with one team working from 5.00am to 3.30pm and another team from 7.00am to 5.30pm. You have the option to join either one of these teams.

An indicative pay range for this role is $26 - $30, depending on your skills and experience. Over and above this, there is also an opportunity to receive a fortnightly production bonus.

• Experience in operating sawmill machines
• Mechanically minded with the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• Good hand/eye coordination
• Be able to do medium level of physical work, with low impact on the body
