Job summary

Tairawhiti Contracting Limited in Gisborne is recruiting 25 workers for kiwifruit flower thinning, with start dates between Monday 28 September and Thursday 1 October. Applicants should be honest, reliable, physically fit and healthy; height minimum 165 cm to reach overhead vines. Training will be provided.

Pay is $26 per hour including 8% Holiday Pay, paid weekly. Work is about 4 weeks, with potential ongoing work up to Christmas in apple thinning.

Qualifications

• Must be NZ resident or citizen or hold a valid working holiday visa.
• No SSE visa allowed.
• Previous experience is an advantage but training provided.

Job description

Tairawhiti Contracting Limited is a horticultural contracting business based in sunny Gisborne, on the East Coast of the North Island.

We are currently recruiting staff for kiwifruit flower thinning, starting between Monday 28 September and Thursday 1 October.

We are looking for 25 people who are honest, reliable, physically fit, and healthy. Applicants should be at least 165cm tall, to reach overhead vines.

Previous experience is an advantage but not absolutely necessary as we will provide full training if you are willing to work and have a positive attitude towards learning.

You must be a NZ resident/citizen or have a valid working holiday visa. Note, we cannot employ anyone on an SSE visa.

Pay rate

$26 per hour including 8% Holiday Pay, paid weekly into your bank account.

Work Duration

About 4 Weeks. Ongoing work may be available for the right people up to Christmas time in apple thinning.

Working hours

40-50 hours a week, Monday to Saturday, weather permitting. 7am - 4.30pm.
