Juken New Zealand Ltd (JNL) is an international forest and wood products company operating in local and global timber markets. JNL owns four wood processing plants in the North Island, and forests in the Wairarapa and East Coast regions. We work closely with our parent company in Japan – WoodOne.
The two mills situated in Kaitaia are currently working a 5½ day / 24 hr operation processing Radiata Pine into reconstituted wood panels and peeled, dried veneer.
We are looking for a Mechanical apprentice to join JNL based at the Triboard Mill site. This is a full-time role. You will gain on the job experience working onsite as well as attending block courses. You will be fully supported by our Engineering Team in studying towards a NZ Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Level 4.

It is recommended that people enrolling in a programme leading to this qualification will hold NCEA Level 2 (ideally in Maths, Science, Technology, English) or equivalent.
We will support the successful candidate through the Trade qualification by offering a comprehensive training package. In the first instance, preference will be given to candidates who have experience with the industry, through work experience, pre-trade courses or other avenues. Applicants must be committed to 4 years study while they work.
