Nelson College for Girls in Nelson seeks a Secondary English kaiako for Years 7–15 (wharekura) on a full-time fixed-term basis. Start date: 28/01/2027; end date: 27/01/2028 with extended leave.

We value a genuine passion for English, excellent communication, flexibility, creativity and organisation, and the ability to connect with rangatahi to make learning relevant. NZ teacher registration is required and involvement in wider school life is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher English
• Excellent communication skills are important
• Ability to be flexible, creative and organised
• Experience providing rich learning opportunities with high expectations and culturally responsive pedagogy

Responsabilités

• Enact responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and engage with young people to make learning relevant
• Be involved in the wider life of the school
• Provide high-quality English instruction to students across Years 7–15
