Job summary

Ohinewai School in New Zealand is seeking a Certificated teacher for primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) to join our junior programme. The role blends Learning Through Play with explicit teaching and starts 28 January 2027 on a fixed-term basis.

We value warm relationships with tamariki and whānau, inclusive classrooms, and collaboration. Experience with BSLA/structured literacy and Numicon Mathematics is advantageous, but a willingness to learn is equally important.

We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about creating positive learning experiences for our youngest learners and who values strong relationships with children, whānau and colleagues.

At Ohinewai School, our junior programme combines Learning Through Play with explicit, structured teaching. Experience with BSLA/structured literacy and Numicon Mathematics would be an advantage; however, a willingness to learn and work collaboratively is equally important.
