• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) and at least one modern JS framework.
• Proficiency in at least one back-end language (Node.js, Python, Java, C#) and familiarity with frameworks.
• Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Familiarity with Git and version control.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Passion for software development and willingness to learn.

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking software development house specialising in custom web solutions, is seeking a talented Junior Full Stack Developer to join their dedicated team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape . This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a passion for both front-end and back-end development to build a robust career. You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from concept and design to implementation and maintenance of dynamic web applications. The role requires consistent on-site presence to foster team collaboration and knowledge sharing. You will work on challenging projects that demand creative problem-solving and a strong command of modern web technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain user-facing features using modern front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Angular/Vue).
• Build and manage server-side logic, APIs, and databases using back-end languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, C#) and frameworks.
• Collaborate with designers and product managers to translate UI/UX designs into functional code.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and testable code.
• Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software systems.
• Assist in the design and implementation of database schemas and queries.
• Contribute to the planning and architecture of new application features.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) and at least one modern JavaScript framework (React, Angular, Vue.js).
• Proficiency in at least one back-end programming language (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, C#) and familiarity with relevant frameworks (e.g., Express.js, Django, Spring Boot).
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a logical approach to coding.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A passion for software development and a desire to continuously learn and improve.
• Must be eligible to work in South Africa and willing to work full-time from our Queenstown office.
