Job summary

Rocket Lab's Auckland team is seeking an IT Systems Engineer I to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment onsite. The role focuses on implementing, administering, and operating VMware, Kubernetes, Linux, Windows Server, and cloud platforms across global teams.

You will manage upgrades, automations, and deployments, deliver secure infrastructure, and collaborate with world-class IT, engineering, and business professionals. Onsite work in Mt. Wellington, Auckland.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of IT systems engineering experience and a related degree or 6+ years total.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server Administration (AD, DNS, PKI, DHCP) and cloud enterprise environments (AWS/Azure).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, VMware, Linux, Configuration Management, Automation, and IaC.
• Experience with server/storage hardware, backups, NetApp, Pure Storage, and hyperconverged infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provides subject matter expertise to deliver and support IT systems, managing cloud infrastructure and projects.
• Lead upgrades, maintenance, and continuous improvement for reliable, secure infrastructure.
• Lead project planning and deployment for infrastructure initiatives.
• Create and sustain automated processes for software delivery/packaging and configuration management.
• Troubleshoot user software or hardware issues in line with project tasks and policies.
