Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking an Electric Propulsion Test Engineer (Development Engineer) in Auckland to join the Ion Propulsion team. You will test ion propulsion systems and develop equipment and procedures, solving engineering challenges with hands-on hardware.

Ideal candidates have a degree in engineering or physics with 1+ years of experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and a drive to contribute to space exploration.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or physics with 1+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on testing of ion propulsion systems and components.
• Develop test equipment, procedures, and analysis methods to advance vehicle testing capabilities.
• Proactively identify and resolve quality issues and technical challenges.
• Create thorough technical documentation following company standards.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams on anomaly resolution and design improvements.
• Develop and maintain data processing and test automation code.
• Transition acceptance testing processes to production teams.
