Job summary

Rocket Lab Corporation in Auckland is seeking a Senior Propulsion and Fluids Test Engineer to take ownership of propulsion components and fluid systems. You will work on building test setups, running campaigns, and solving real-world problems in propulsion testing.

Joining the Space Systems team, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers and help define and raise standards in testing. This role involves significant hands-on work and responsibility in a rapidly growing space company.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience developing and testing propulsion, fluid, or other high-performance hardware.
  • Strong hands-on background with instrumentation, data acquisition, and test execution.
  • Experience working across the full development lifecycle, from requirements through to production.
  • Confidence operating in ambiguity and making sound, first-principles engineering decisions.
  • Experience with LabVIEW (or similar) and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of propulsion components and fluid systems from early concept to production.
  • Build test setups, run campaigns, analyze results, and solve problems.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to develop new systems and improve existing designs.
  • Plan, instrument, execute, and analyze tests while communicating with stakeholders.

Skills

Propulsion hardware development and testing
Hands-on instrumentation and data acquisition
Experience in full development lifecycle
Confidence in engineering decisions
LabVIEW usage

Education

Advanced degree (Masters or PhD)
