Job summary

Rocket Lab Corporation seeks a Development Engineer to advance ion propulsion technology in New Zealand. You will test systems hands-on, develop new test methods, and work with designers, analysts, and technicians to solve challenges that impact missions and products.

You will contribute to automation, data processing, and documentation while supporting production transfers and safety standards in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or physics with 1+ years of industry experience.
• Hands-on testing and development of ion propulsion hardware.
• Experience with electrical/mechanical components is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute hands-on tests for ion propulsion systems and components.
• Develop test equipment, procedures, and analysis methods.
• Identify and resolve quality issues and technical challenges.
• Create thorough technical documentation per standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on anomalies and design improvements.
• Develop and maintain data processing and test automation code.
• Support production acceptance testing transitions.
