ACC New Zealand is seeking an Investments Technology Strategy Manager to set the strategic direction and long-term capability roadmap for investment systems, data platforms and analytics across the Investment Group.

About the role | Mō te tūǕra mahi
As the Investments Technology Strategy Manager you will set the strategic direction and long-term capability roadmap for investment systems, data platforms and analytics across the Investment Group. You will provide clear leadership and ownership of our investment technology and data architecture, ensuring our platforms are robust, scalable, secure and aligned with ACC's investment and enterprise technology strategies.

This role reports to the Head of Investment Operations and is a senior and influential role operating across investments, technology, data, risk and finance. You will work closely with the Data and Platform Product Manager and other key stakeholders to ensure our technology, data and system priorities are aligned, effectively governed and sequenced to deliver sustainable business value.

The appointing salary for this role is $138,301 to $178,978 based on experience.

ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance.

  • Providing trusted strategic advice to senior stakeholders and influencing executive decision-making.
  • Identifying emerging technologies, industry trends and market practices that could enhance ACC's investment capability.
  • Building strong partnerships across Investments, Technology, Risk, Finance and external service providers.
  • Leading and developing a high-performing specialist team.

About you | Mō
You will be an experienced technology, systems or data leader with deep institutional investment management expertise. You will be skilled at connecting investment business requirements with technology strategy and delivery, balancing innovation with governance, risk management and operational discipline. Commercially minded and pragmatic, you will be comfortable operating in a complex, regulated environment and motivated by using technology and data to enhance investment performance.

You will bring:

  • Extensive experience within an institutional investment management environment.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end investment processes and the systems and data supporting front, middle and back-office functions.
  • Experience implementing and evolving investment systems and technology solutions.
  • Senior leadership experience across investment systems, technology or data, including leading specialist teams and vendors.
  • Experience developing technology strategies, target-state architectures and capability roadmaps.
  • Strong knowledge of technology governance, cyber resilience, operational risk and change management.
  • The ability to translate complex investment requirements into clear priorities and recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with credibility at senior levels.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in information systems, engineering, data, finance or a related discipline, or equivalent senior-level experience.
  • You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
