Job description

United Capital Investment Limited is seeking an experienced Fund Manager to join the investment management team. The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating investment opportunities, managing investment portfolios, conducting investment research and due diligence, monitoring investment performance, and supporting the company's investment governance framework.

Key responsibilities
  • Identifying, researching and evaluating potential investment opportunities.
  • Conducting detailed investment analysis and due diligence.
  • Assessing investment fundamentals, expected returns, risks, liquidity and investment time horizons.
  • Preparing investment papers and recommendations for the Investment Committee.
  • Managing and monitoring investment portfolios in accordance with approved investment mandates and strategies.
  • Reviewing portfolio performance and recommending appropriate investment actions.
  • Supporting portfolio construction, diversification and asset allocation decisions.
  • Monitoring market conditions, economic developments and investment trends.
  • Reviewing investment valuations and performance against appropriate benchmarks and investment objectives.
  • Maintaining appropriate investment records and supporting investment governance processes.
About you
  • New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) - Investment strand, or an equivalent recognised investment qualification; or previous experience as an Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA) with relevant investment experience under the former New Zealand financial adviser regime.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in investment management, fund management, portfolio management, investment research, investment analysis or investment advisory.
  • Strong understanding of investment products, financial markets and portfolio management principles.
  • Practical experience in assessing investment opportunities and preparing investment recommendations.
  • Strong financial and quantitative analytical skills.
  • Understanding of investment risk management, diversification and portfolio monitoring.
  • Knowledge of New Zealand's financial services and investment regulatory environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High standards of professional judgement, integrity and confidentiality.
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Investment, Commerce or a related discipline would be advantageous.
