Job summary

The University Of Waikato in Hamilton is seeking a Communications Advisor to join its award-winning team. The role focuses on internal communications across 12,000 students and 2,000 staff, developing and sharing engaging content across multiple campuses.

You will provide operational communications with a strategic lens, own improvement initiatives, and support external and corporate communications when needed. This is a full-time, fixed-term 12-month parental leave cover starting September 2026.

Qualifications

Relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
Interest in internal stakeholders and ensuring they are informed but not inundated.
Impressive attention to detail, brand integrity, and timely delivery under pressure.
Proficiency with M365 and SharePoint.
Ability to write across a range of styles; not AI-generated.
Must have legal right to live and work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities
