DairyNZ is seeking an Internal Change & Communications Lead to join the People & Capability team in Otago, NZ. The role focuses on guiding organisational change, strengthening employee engagement, and delivering engaging internal communications across the dairy sector.
You will partner with leaders and project teams to identify people impacts, develop practical change and communication plans, support adoption, and ensure staff are informed and connected to contribute to successful outcomes.

DairyNZ is looking for an experienced Internal Change & Communications Lead to join our People & Capability team. This is a specialist role focused on supporting successful organisational change, strengthening employeeengagementand delivering clear,relevantand engaging internal communications across DairyNZ.
Working closely with leaders, projectteamsand initiative owners, you will bring a strong employee lens to change. You will helpidentifypeopleimpacts, develop practical change and communication plans, support engagement and adoption, and ensure staff are informed,connectedand equipped to contribute to successful outcomes.
About the role
In this role, you will partner across the organisation to design and deliver fit-for-purpose change management,engagementand communication approaches for key initiatives. You will manageDairyNZ’sinternal communication channels, create high-quality content, support leaders with key messages and toolkits, and help bring DairyNZ’s work,impactand purpose to life for staff.
You will also contributeto projects and improvements that enhance our processes, culture,capabilityand ways of working.
Key responsibilities
Develop and deliver change management plans, including impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, communication approaches, readinessactivitiesand adoption support.
Providepractical advice and coaching to leaders,managersand project teams to support effective change planning and delivery.
Plan, write and edit clear, engaging and audience-focused internal communications.
Manage and continuously improveDairyNZ’sinternal communication channels.
Develop leader toolkits, briefing materials, FAQs,guidanceand other resources to support people through change.
Use communication and engagement insights to understand reach,impactand effectiveness, and improve future activity.
Support People & Capability projects and initiatives that strengthen employee experience,engagementand organisational effectiveness.
About you
You will be a strong communicator and trusted advisor who can build relationships quickly, influence effectively and translate complex information into messages that are clear,practicaland meaningful for different audiences. You will be comfortable working across multiple initiatives, balancing detail with the bigger picture, and supporting leaders and teams through change.
To be successful, you will bring experience in change management, internal communications, organisationaldevelopmentor a People & Capability advisory role, along with strong planning,prioritisationand stakeholder engagement skills. A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent workplace experience is essential. Change management certification and group facilitation experience would beadvantageous.
