Job summary

KPMG New Zealand is seeking an experienced Manager in Risk Consulting to lead internal audit engagements for Christchurch-based clients. You will manage day-to-day delivery, understand client businesses, and produce clear reports while collaborating with teams to deliver high-quality services.

The role requires 6+ years in consulting or risk-related roles, professional qualifications, and strong communication skills. Travel across the South Island may be required; hybrid options may apply.

Qualifications

• Governance, risk and controls knowledge demonstrated across engagements.
• Ability to think strategically and translate client issues into solutions.
• Comfort with ambiguity and proactive problem solving through collaboration.
• Strong planning and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; report writing proficiency.
• IQA experience on transformation projects is advantageous; ERP familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall work requirements of engagements under the Partner or delegate.
• Develop understanding of clients’ businesses and industries faced by their challenges.
• Produce clear, well-presented documents and client-facing reports.
• Develop well-reasoned solutions within client environments and constraints.
• Engage with clients and collaborate to deliver services; maintain client relationships.
• Supervise and coach junior team members and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
