Job summary

Te Tāhū o te Ture – the Ministry of Justice, Wellington, seeks a Researcher Analyst for the Inquiry Facilitation team to assist with tribunal inquiries and hearings. You will work with Waitangi Tribunal panels, claimants and counsel, and collaborate across the Tribunal Unit to ensure high-quality facilitation and analytical support.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in public policy, Māori studies, law, New Zealand history, or another relevant discipline.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
• Knowledge of te reo Māori, tikanga, and mātauranga Māori is beneficial.
• Experience in the public service or related organisations would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Work with Waitangi Tribunal panels, claimants and counsel.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Waitangi Tribunal Unit to deliver inquiry facilitation services.
• Build and maintain relationships with judiciary, Tribunal members and colleagues.
• Support the day-to-day running of tribunal inquiry processes.
