Job summary

New Zealand Hospital in Auckland seeks a Child Psychiatrist to join the Child and Family Unit and adolescent mental health inpatient service serving 0–18 year olds. You will provide specialist clinical care and contribute to teaching and supervision of registrars, house officers and students.

Applicants should be registered or eligible for Locum Tenens in New Zealand, with FRANZCP or equivalent, and a minimum of five years’ clinical practice in mental health.

Qualifications

• Experience and qualification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Excellent working knowledge of the NZ mental health field including relevant legislation.
• 5 years clinical practice in Mental Health.
• Commitment for biocultural practice.
• Sound understanding and commitment to recovery principles.
• High standard of verbal and written communication.
• PC literacy.
• FRANZCP or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to children and adolescents aged 0–18 years and their families.
• Contribute to professional development and supervision of Registrars, House Officers and Students.
